“You, yourself, as much as anyone in the universe, deserve your love and affection.”  Buddha

Are you feeling overwhelmed by life experiences or trauma?  Are you suffering from the effects of alcohol or drug use?  Full Spectrum Recovery is proud to offer Seeking Safety, a research based program developed by Lisa Najavits, PhD. Seeking Safety helps clients learn how to feel safer in stressful situations and how to cope with the lingering effects of trauma and substance abuse.  You can learn to:

  • develop grounding and coping skills to help you detach from emotional pain
  • set boundaries in your relationships
  • cope with stress more effectively
  • replace harsh self-talk with compassionate self-talk
  • develop recovery thinking
  • self-nurture
  • and much more….

seekingsafety-tWith the help of an experienced clinician, you can benefit from the use of  Dr. Najavits’ excellent workbook including topics such as When Substances Control You, Recovery Thinking, Coping with Triggers, Healthy Relationships, and Setting Boundaries in Relationships.

This program is ideal for someone who would like to enhance regular therapy with a program which offers a forward looking, positive approach, with the use of specific tools and techniques. It also works very well for individuals who are not interested in engaging in long term, intense therapy. The program is an interactive, educational process which can be modified to six sessions or more.  The therapist can help the client choose the topics most relevant for their personal situation, to maximize effectiveness.

We also intermittently offer Seeking Safety in a group setting, so please let us know if you would like to be on a list for our next group.
