Galen Garbarino-Wilson, M.S., LMFT

galen-outsideGalen Garbarino-Wilson is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFC 40925) and has been working with Full Spectrum Recovery since 2002. She has worked in the field of addictive and compulsive behaviors since she started working as a therapist in the late ‘90’s. Galen has provided direct therapeutic services to individuals, youth and families in multiple settings in Santa Barbara including; the Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse, Project Recovery’s Adolescent Treatment Program and El Puente Continuation School.

Galen completed her Master’s of Science degree in Educational Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Cal State Northridge, graduating with honors in 1998. She enjoys program development and has conducted community trainings on the issues of adolescent development and substance abuse prevention and treatment for adolescents, Motivational Interviewing and moderated an Eating Disorders Panel in the recent past.  Most recently, Galen has completed Level II training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and is completing her consultation hours for certification.  She has also taken over the Clinical Supervision of FSR Interns and is enjoying the growth this challenge is providing.  Areas of specialization include: Adolescent Treatment, Family Systems, Motivational Interviewing, Interventions, Compulsive Behaviors, Trauma utilizing EMDR, Anxiety and Depressive Disorders, and Clinical Supervision.

Galen most enjoys working with individuals and young adults in the transition of making better choices and living healthier and more productive lives.
