Donna Genera, M.A., LMFT
Donna is one of the owners and the clinical director of Full Spectrum Recovery and Counseling Services.
She has been an instructor through Santa Barbara City College since 1983 and currently teaches in their Alcohol and Drug Certification program. Donna also taught at UCSB extension from 1990 – 1995. One of her greatest joys is giving workshops, seminars and in-service trainings and is a BBS certified CEU provider for MFT’s and LCSW’s.
Donna has the distinction of being in the first graduating class at Pacifica Graduate Institute for her Masters Degree in clinical psychology, and was licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in 1986. She has worked in both inpatient and outpatient treatment centers for Dual Diagnosis, Eating Disorders, and Chemical Dependency. As a chapter chair and consultant for the CA. Women’s Commission on Alcohol and Drug Dependency, Donna traveled throughout So.California helping to set up treatment programs for co-occuring disorders. As part of a treatment providers network, CAPNET, Donna hosted a local television show for over 9 years showcasing recovery options in our community.
As a “trainer of trainers” in Motivational Interviewing, Donna also specializes in Couples Work, Co-dependency, Compulsive Gambling, Eating Disorders, Trauma (CISD certified), Interventions, Family Systems, Psychopharmacology, and Nutritional Supplementation. Donna most loves working with couples and the interpersonal dynamics of relationships.
