“Take the first step in faith.
You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.”
– Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

If you are struggling with the effects of alcohol or substance use, we at FSR offer a fresh perspective on change.  We’ll work with you to find your own unique path to a better life.

Our therapists recognize that not all clients are interested in a 12 Step Program to assist with their alcohol and substance use issues. People may suffer from anxiety or depression, making it difficult for them to participate in group settings.  Or they may have concerns about confidentiality at meetings, or perhaps just feel the need to engage in deeper therapeutic work. Such individuals often thrive in a setting where a relationship can be formed with one therapist, in a private and confidential setting.

customizedrecovery-tWhen clients prefer to design their own alternative approach to recovery, for whatever reason, we honor that decision. So, in addition to our Traditional 12 Step Support program, we also offer a treatment track that is customized to the needs of each client. Together, the client and therapist develop a strategy for abstinence and relapse prevention, at a pace the client determines. The regularly scheduled sessions provide a high level of accountability, which is critical in the recovery process.

While each treatment plan varies, as experts in the field of alcohol and substance abuse with over fifty years combined experience, we know that emphasizing core concepts is essential to success.  These include building a healthy support system, finding structure and purpose in each day, understanding triggers and underlying stressors, developing coping strategies, and learning relapse prevention tools.

If you are considering embarking on this journey with a compassionate, non judgmental specialist, we encourage you to call one of our therapists directly, or to call 805.966.5100.
